![]() Cheraw Amazing Automation Camp SuccessNortheastern Technical College
Campers will spend the week exploring one of the most amazing innovations engineers are now using to mprove the quality of our lives - Automation! Campers will use computer assisted design (CAD) programs to design a soution to a problem presented by a community organization. They'll learn and experience how Robotics is influencing manufacturing and health science. The camp lasts one week — the adventure lasts a lifetime. Camp will be from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, July 28 - August 1 on the campus of NOrtheastern Technical College in Cheraw. Each day begins with fun, team-building activities plus a debriefing followed by an exciting and diverse schedule of Discovery Workshops, learning lab activities, community and field trips to local companies such as Highland Industries and Carolina Canners. Campers will work in project teams to provide a solution to a community customer. Fun and challenges will be interwoven throughout the week. On Sunday, July 27, afternoon activities will be held for campers to get aquainted and for parents to learn about camp plans. The cost to attend Amazing Automation Camp Success is $50. A limited number of scholarships are available to students who would not otherwise be able to attend. Coordinators: To apply, complete the form beow and mail it to the address indiated on the form. Students who may need financial assistance should attach a letter to the application indicating the amount of need. Proof of income for the current calendar year will be required to apply for the scholarship. The application package must be postmarked by June 9, 2008.
