![]() Aiken H2O Engineering Camp Success - June 9-14, 2008USC Aiken
Campers will spend the week at the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center on the campus of USC Aiken exploring the engineering behind water systems. Campers will actually design a super-efficient residential water filtration system. The camp lasts one week — the adventure lasts a lifetime. View H2O Engineering Camp Success images here. Camp will be from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, June 9-13. Each day begins with fun, team-building activities plus a debriefing followed by an exciting and diverse schedule of Discovery Workshops, learning lab activities, and field trips to such companies as Horse Creek Waste Facility, Phinizy Swamp and Washington Savannah River Site. Professional engineers will be on hand to mentor students as they design a water filtration system that can decrease home water usage by 10-20 gallons a week! Fun and challenges will be interwoven throughout the week. Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. is celebration day for campers, their families and guests. A parent information session will be followed by project team presentations and recognition for personal and team accomplishments.
